Continental says it is aiming to help operators maximise loads and minimise fuel costs with its new trailer tyres for mega liners.
The Conti Hybrid HT3 435/50 R 19.5 is the latest addition to the Continental portfolio and, along with the 445/45 R 19.5, is designed to boost load capacity and service life, combined with a lower diameter.
Like comparable 22.5-inch tyres, both the 435/50 R 19.5 and 445/45 R 19.5 allow an axle load of 9 tonnes and can be used on semi-trailers of mega liners to optimise internal load height.
The manufacturer says its developers have reduced rolling resistance by 15%, meaning both tyre types have a B rating and can reduce fuel use on regional or long-distance operations.
Both also feature the M+S (mud and snow) symbol.
