Nagel Langdons starts trial of Terberg truck in London

Food distribution business Nagel Langdons is starting a trial this month in London of a multi-temperature, low-emissions vehicle from Terberg DTS UK.

The Urban Logistics Safety Vehicle has been designed for city deliveries and the driver can enter or exit the cab on either side. The vehicle also offers side and tail gates with lifting platforms, and the refrigeration unit is designed to produce fewer emissions and less noise.

Other features on the 18-tonner include large cab windows, sensors to warn if people or objects are in the truck’s immediate vicinity, and additional external lighting and indicators.

It also has an emergency button in the driver’s cab, a remotely controlled shutdown function and use of geofencing, so the speed of the vehicle can be reduced automatically.

“On a daily basis, we send around 30 vehicles into the capital delivering food on behalf of our customers from across the UK and Europe. In order to ensure efficiency within the supply in the future, we aim to be a step ahead of legal requirements,” says Arran Osman, managing director of Nagel Langdons.
