Independent Glass is taking delivery of two new Euro 6 DAF XF 460 Space Cab tractor units on contract hire from Ryder – in its 25th year as a Ryder customer in Scotland.
The Euro 6 trucks are to replace older units in the firm's fleet and join 21 glass carrying vehicles from 5- to 26-tonne trucks previously supplied by Ryder.
"Our customers are spread throughout the UK and require regular, reliable deliveries, so it's important that we have a modern, well-maintained fleet," states George McCallum, Independent Glass' group transport manager.
"Ryder has always exceeded our customer service expectations, which is why we've partnered with them for the past 25 years."
And McCallum adds that Independent Glass already has a number of additional DAF 26 tonners on order from Ryder for delivery later in the year.
