Emergency Services Show to see new Volvo FL816 appliance 22 September 2015

Volvo Trucks says it is returning to the Emergency Services Show (NEC, Birmingham, 23—24 September) with a new FL816 water tender/pumping appliance.

The FL816, set to star on Volvo Trucks’ external display, will be in the livery of the Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service FL (NIFRS) – a long standing user of Volvo Appliances for 30 years.

Chassis specification of the FL816 water tender/pumping appliance includes drive-axle air suspension, and is powered by Volvo’s Euro 6 D8K280 engine rated at 280bhp and delivering up to 1,050Nm of torque between 950 –1,700rpm.

An Allison 3000 series automatic transmission completes the driveline.

The bodywork was manufactured by Strong’s Plastic Products and the main bodybuilder was Emergency One, of Cumnock, Ayrshire.
