Goldstar Heathrow takes off with Microlise16 August 2016

Goldstar Heathrow, transport provider for the air freight industry, is rolling out a transport management solution from Microlise across 170 vehicles and trailers.

The operator is deploying the Fleet Performance product – with modules for safety, 3G cameras, trailer tracking and temperature monitoring – in a bid to improve efficiency and reduce emissions.

“Over 95% of our carbon footprint comes from our fleet, so our focus is on increasing efficiency, with the overall objective of reducing emissions and our impact on the environment,” says Katie Crozier, head of the transport team at Goldstar. “Microlise will be critical to achieving this.”

Its fleet ranges from small vans to 44-tonne tractor units with trailers.

The safety module provides Goldstar with details of vehicle and driver activity 30 seconds before and after any incident. Remote digital tacho downloading has also been specified, to boost compliance and improve administration efficiency.

Part of the fleet will also be fitted with temperature monitoring, which triggers an alert if a predetermined temperature range is exceeded within one of the configured trailers.
