Renault Lander lands in Leicestershire for Selby’s 31 August 2012

Bulk haulage company Selby's Garage has taken delivery of an 8x4 Renault Lander 430.32 tipper.

This is the first Renault truck to join the company's 12-strong mixed fleet, which comprises Foden, Scania, Mercedes-Benz and MAN vehicles.

The tipper, which was supplied through Renault Trucks distributor RH Commercials, has a sleeper cab and Optidriver gearbox.

The new Renault Lander is fitted with Binotto tipping gear and a Wilcox bulk alloy tipping body.

Andy Selby, director at Selby's Garage, says it will undertake nationwide deliveries of Leicestershire granite and return loads of sand, aggregate and animal feed.

"The decision to purchase a Renault Lander was based on recommendation from other operators, as well as an attractive price package," reveals Selby.

"The 8x4 tipper has been in operation for seven weeks now and driver feedback is excellent, with positive comments about its ability to manoeuvre well in tight spots, where other trucks on our fleet would struggle," he adds.

Selby says other aspects of the vehicle that have impressed early on include fuel consumption. "At this early stage, [it] is very positive and payload meets our expectations," he states.

"The cab is spacious and well laid out; something that adds to the driver comfort."
