Scottish healthcare service relies on VW Commercial Vehicles03 March 2015

NHS Highland Estates is extending its response fleet with seven more vehicles from Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, including the Caddy, Transporter and Amarok models.

The Scottish operator covers 10,000 sq m throughout remote regions and the latest additions will include an Amarok pick-up and a Transporter 4Motion, both four-wheel drive models which can operate on the challenging terrain.

The new vehicles will join other VW models on the fleet, including the Caddy C20, Caddy C20 Maxi, Caddy C20 Kombi and Transporters.

Aftersales support was a key factor, with VW's service promise including a like-for-like replacement vehicle in the event of a breakdown.

"When looking to source new vehicles for our fleet, reliability and efficiency were of great importance, and taking into account value for money, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles emerged as the number one choice," says Magnus Bain, maintenance manager for NHS Highland Estates.

The healthcare service has also opted for BlueMotion Technology for much of the fleet, to increase fuel efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions.
