Stobart and AW Jenkinson extend Scania procurement deal 18 January 2011

The 1,000 truck joint-procurement agreement signed in 2010 between Stobart Group, AW Jenkinson Forest Products and Scania has now been extended to include at least a further 170 vehicles.

With 665 of the original 1,000 trucks delivered to date, a minimum of 500 Scania units will be delivered into Stobart Group/AW Jenkinson this year.

"Increases in transport volumes and our drive to keep the Eddie Stobart fleet fresh and efficient has resulted in this investment in new vehicles," comments Stobart Group chief operating officer, William Stobart.

"Our current fleet of Scanias has been performing well and is capable of meeting Stobart's diverse operational needs – so we were happy to commit to adding more new Scania R and G models to the fleet," he adds.

The new trucks are based on three specifications: R 440 LA6x2/4MNA Highline cab right hand drive tractor units and G 400 LA4x2MNA standard sleeper cab right hand drive tractor units, both for Stobart Group; and R 440 LA6x2MNA Highline cab right hand drive tractor units for A W Jenkinson.
